Geno Smith was born to his parents on October 10, 1990, in Lakemont, Georgia. He is the son of Eugene Smith Jr. and Tracy Seller.

Smith (now 31) was raised by his parents in Miami, Florida, and he holds the nationality of America.

His family has an athletic background as his great-uncle, Danny Smith, was an All-American hurdler at the Florida State Seminoles football team.

Likewise, Geno’s cousin, Melvin Bratton, is a sports agent and former football running back who played for the University of Miami.

The football QB Smith was given the nickname “Geno” by his grandfather, who was known as “Big Geno.”

He attended Norland Middle School’s magnet program, which conducted arts instruction for two hours per day. Later on, he joined Miramar High School, where he was by Damon Cogdell, a former Mountaineer.

Smith passed for 2,200 yards, 25 touchdowns, and three interceptions as a junior. He was also selected as the second-team all-state quarterback.

In the 2007 season, he was also named as an athlete for the second-team all-Broward County. He received an invitation to the elite Elite 11 quarterback camp in Aliso Viejo, California, after his junior year.
