Jason Cachuela Shooting – Dean has more than twenty years of experience in the field of space-related activities, with a particular emphasis on Electronic Warfare, System Acquisitions, Satellite Rendezvous, and Proximity Operations. In June of 2019, Jason took his retirement from the Air Force, where he had served as the Branch Chief of the Strategy Division for the National Space Defense Center.
During his time there, he served as the enlisted in charge of developing space defense strategies and making recommendations to the United States Strategic Command. Prior to that, Jason held the position of Section Chief for Plans and Architecture at the 16th Space Control Squadron. In this capacity, he was in charge of a group that was tasked with the acquisition of the most recent Defensive Space Control systems developed by the Air Force Space Command (AFSPC).
Additionally, Jason served as the Flight Chief of Operations Support for the 1st Space Operations Squadron. In this role, he was responsible for leading an eight-person team that was responsible for the acquisition and operationalization of the Geosynchronous Space Situational Awareness Program. Additionally, he was responsible for the mission planning and orbital analysis for the AFSPC’s sole space-based SSA sensors (GSSAP, SBSS, and ATRR).
Additionally, Jason served as the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) of Operations Training for the Upgraded Early Warning Solid-State Phased Array Radar at the 12th Space Warning Squadron in Thule AB, Greenland. Additionally, he was the NCOIC of the Advanced Capabilities Environment for the 25th Space Range Squadron, where he was responsible for the development of tactics and techniques as well as training for tailored Electronic Warfare (EW) systems.
